LEARN TO USE GOOGLE MAPS WITHOUT INTERNET CONNECTION

This is for those who will travel and in addition to not want to lose, do not want to spend much money on internet on your phone. Recently, Google announced the possibility of using the Maps – the platform maps – even offline; That’s right, disconnected. The function is available for both iOS as Android devices.

Even unplugged, the main features continue to function as, for example, the blue dot that indicates your exact location. More than that, you can also view driving directions to a certain place or another. That is, the navigation continues running so if you are on foot or by car – only the traffic information is that you have not, after all, you will be disconnected! Here’s how to take advantage of the functionality.

Open Google Maps and connect to your Gmail account. Do this preferably in a wi-fi network because you will need to download the desired map on your device. In the search bar, search the city, district or region. In the bottom of the screen, tap the searched location. In the menu that appears right then select the download option. There, the map will be saved and you are ready to go to the street without getting lost and without to hunt open wi-fi to use the location service. Note that always appears that refresh button. It is for you to give a “refresh” from time to time on the downloaded map. Another thing: the maps have expiration dates. After that date, they are deleted from your device.

The procedure is the same in both devices with iOS as the Androids. Will travel abroad and want to spend not chip or get lost looking for wi-fi? Or simply want to save on data plan? This tip can be a stopgap high! Now, enjoy this new feature.
